Φρένο στις κυβερνο-επιθέσεις με δημόσιο διαγωνισμό για την επιστράτευση ειδικών

Δημόσιο διαγωνισμό για τον εντοπισμό των πιο ταλαντούχων προγραμματιστών που θα μπορούσαν να περιορίσουν σημαντικά τις ολοένα αυξανόμενες επιθέσεις που δέχεται μέσω ίντερνετ η Βρετανία, διενεργούν οι αρμόδιες αρχές της χώρας. Οι υπεύθυνοι κατέληξαν στην ανάγκη να επιστρατευθούν ειδικοί αφού διαπίστωσαν ότι χωρίς τη βοήθειά τους είναι "πρακτικά αδύνατο να προστατευθεί η χώρα από το ηλεκτρονικό έγκλημα που βρίσκεται σε συνεχή άνοδο". Η επικεφαλής της υπηρεσίας για την Ασφάλεια στον Κυβερνοχώρο επισημαίνει ότι "η Βρετανία είναι ολοένα και πιο εξαρτώμενη από δίκτυα και συστήματα ηλεκτρονικών υπολογιστών καθώς η ψηφιακή οικονομία αλλά και η ίδια η κοινωνία είναι άρρηκτα συνδεδεμένη με το διαδίκτυο". Οι ενδιαφερόμενοι να πάρουν μέρος στον διαγωνισμό θα κληθούν να αντιμετωπίσουν σειρά δοκιμασιών που διαχωρίζονται σε οκτώ επίπεδα, προκειμένου να διακριβωθούν οι ικανότητές τους. Όσοι καταφέρουν να περάσουν στα τελικά στάδια του διαγωνισμού θα χρειαστεί να αντιμετωπίσουν σενάρια κυβερνοεπιθέσεων. Η προκήρυξη απευθύνεται σε άτομα άνω των 16 ετών, ενώ ήδη από την Τρίτη έχει αρχίσει η υποβολή αιτήσεων.
