Το Facebook γίνεται πιο ...Twitter-οειδές!

Ένα νέο χαρακτηριστικό πρόκειται να προστεθεί σύντομα σε όλους τους λογαριασμούς του Facebook. Το νέο feature ονομάζεται Stalk this friend κι επιτρέπει στον κάθε χρήστη να παρακολουθεί τα updates συγκεκριμένων λογαριασμών που βρίσκονται στη λίστα φίλων ή στις fan pages που έχει επιλέξει με το κουμπί Like. Αυτή τη στιγμή, το Stalk this friend βρίσκεται σε φάση δοκιμών.

Με τη νέα αυτή επιλογή, ο χρήστης θα λαμβάνει ειδοποιήσεις (notifications) κάθε φορά που ένας φίλος "υπό παρακολούθηση" γράφει κάτι στο λογαριασμό του. Έτσι, πέρα από τη συνήθη αναφορά στη ροή του News Feed, ο χρήστης θα έχει άμεση πρόσβαση στους λογαριασμούς της επιλογής του μέσω των ειδοποιήσεων και δε θα εξαρτάται από τη χρονική στιγμή που ο "παρακολουθούμενος" γράφει/ανεβάζει κάτι στο Facebook. Δεν έχει γίνει ακόμη γνωστό αν οι ειδοποιήσεις αφορούν μόνο το αρχικό post ή και τα σχόλια που κάνουν άλλοι χρήστες πάνω σ' αυτό.

Με αυτό τον τρόπο, οι υπεύθυνοι του Facebook επιχειρούν να "δανειστούν" χαρακτηριστικά από το Twitter, το οποίο είναι αυτή τη στιγμή το δημοφιλέστερο εργαλείο για την παρακολούθηση συγκεκριμένων προσώπων.

Αν και επί της ουσίας το Stalk this friend δεν αλλάζει κάτι στο θέμα των ρυθμίσεων ασφαλείας, θα πρέπει να θεωρείται δεδομένο ότι θα πυροδοτήσει ένα νέο κύκλο διαμαρτυριών από όσους κατηγορούν το Facebook πως δε σέβεται το απόρρητο των προσωπικών δεδομένων.
