Monopoly… Grand Theft Auto!

Η γνωστή σε όλους μας Μονόπολη, έχει καταντήσει τα τελευταία χρόνια η… επί χρήμασι εκδιδόμενη του κόσμου των επιτραπέζιων παιχνιδιών. Πάει με όλους και με όλα, με κύριο σκοπό το κέρδος (σ.σ: εδώ μέχρι και στη μπουτίκ με τα αναμνηστικά του Πανεπιστημίου, υπάρχει ειδική έκδοση «Monopoly: Newcastle University»! –Ν.Χ.). Λογικό θα ήταν λοιπόν να τη δούμε κάποια στιγμή και ως videogame.

Πώς; Έχει ήδη γίνει αυτό εδώ και χρόνια; Και άπειρες φορές, μάλιστα; Ναι, αλλά όχι έτσι όπως το οραματίζεται η ΕΑ, με το Monopoly Streets, το οποίο σύμφωνα με την ίδια θα είναι ένα παιχνίδι που θα συνδυάζει τους παραδοσιακούς κανόνες του επιτραπέζιου, με τη δράση ενός videogame, αφού οι παίκτες θα μπορούν να περιφέρονται ελεύθερα στην πόλη, το πρόσωπο της οποίας θα αλλάζει ανάλογα με την κατάσταση του παιχνιδιού.

Το Monopoly Streets αναμένεται να κυκλοφορήσει τα φετινά Χριστούγεννα για PS3, Xbox 360 και Wii (στα δυο τελευταία μάλιστα θα μπορείτε να χρησιμοποιήσετε, τα avatars και τα Miis σας, αντίστοιχα), ενώ θα υπάρχει φυσικά η δυνατότητα για online παιχνίδι.

Άραγε όταν μπαίνεις στη φυλακή, θα πρέπει να αποδράσεις, α λα Prison Break;

Copyright enforcement firm ACS:Law hit by embarrassing email leak

It's the weekend and Broadband Genie is enjoying a well-deserved break, but this story was too good to wait until Monday. ACS:Law, the infamous law firm which has been sending out dubious letters threatening to take people to court for file sharing, has had a massive database of its emails leaked onto the web. The ACS:Law web site was taken down by a denial of service (DDoS) attack earlier in the week, an event described by boss Andrew Crossley as "typical rubbish from pirates" . He's likely to have changed his tune now because someone discovered that before the site was restored a backup file containing the emails had been left in an open directory. Inevitably this was downloaded and widely distributed on file sharing networks. The collection includes the incoming and outgoing emails of Andrew Crossley and his employees, complete with attachments, and contains masses of information about how ACS:Law goes about its business and how much money it make...
