GDPR: Εφημερίδες τα πρώτα "θύματα" του νέου κανονισμού



Από τις 25/5 ημερομηνία έναρξης εφαρμογής του νέου κανονισμού προστασίας της ιδιωτικής ζωής στην Ευρώπη και παρά του ότι δύο χρόνια τώρα υπήρξαν προειδοποιήσεις, τουλάχιστον δύο μεγάλες αλυσίδες εφημερίδων στις Η.Π.Α. δεν φαίνεται να τα κατάφεραν.
 
Οι διαδικτυακοί αναγνώστες από την Ευρώπη από προχτές το πρωί διαπίστωσαν ότι οι εφημερίδες που ανήκουν στον όμιλο Tronc, (Los Angeles Times και Chicago Tribune), δεν μπορούσαν να εμφανιστούν στους browsers τους. Ορισμένες από τις εφαρμογές της Tronc είχαν εξαφανιστεί από τα Stores εφαρμογών της ΕΕ.


 Από την άλλη, η Lee Enterprises, η οποία κατέχει μια σειρά από 46 μικρότερες περιφερειακές εφημερίδες, ανακοίνωσε επίσης ότι οι ιστοσελίδες της δεν είναι διαθέσιμες.

Μια από αυτές μάλιστα φέρεται να πήρε ακραία μέτρα, για να εμφανιστεί online… H USA Today ανακατευθύνει τους αναγνώστες από την Ευρώπη σε μια νέα σελίδα (https://eu.usatoday.com/) που διαθέτει περιορισμένο αριθμό ειδήσεων και καμία απολύτως διαφήμιση.

Η GateHouse Media φαίνεται να εμποδίζει τις IP από την Ευρώπη να διαβάσουν ορισμένες εφημερίδες.
