GDPR: τέσσερις μηνύσεις σε Google και Facebook


Αμέσως μετά την εφαρμογή του Γενικού Κανονισμού Προστασίας Δεδομένων (GDPR), οι ακτιβιστές της ιδιωτικής ζωής που περίμεναν στην γωνία, άρχισαν να υποβάλλουν καταγγελίες για τη συμπεριφορά της Google και του Facebook

Οι καταγγελίες προέρχονται από μια ομάδα που ονομάζεται None Of Your Business (NOYB), με επικεφαλής τον παλιό εχθρό του Facebook Max Schrems, από την Αυστρία.

Ο Schrems δημιούργησε το NOYB με σκοπό την υποβολή διερευνημένων καταγγελιών εναντίον μεγάλων διαδικτυακών εταιρειών που δεν ακολουθούν τους όρους του GDPR. Ο νόμος επιτρέπει σε μη κερδοσκοπικούς οργανισμούς να το κάνουν εξ ονόματος των Ευρωπαίων, εφόσον διαφαίνεται ότι τα δικαιώματα τους έχουν παραβιαστεί.

Έτσι, η ΜΚΟ του Schrems έχει καταθέσει τέσσερις καταγγελίες σε τέσσερις διαφορετικές ευρωπαϊκές ρυθμιστικές αρχές για την προστασία της ιδιωτικής ζωής, για να βεβαιωθεί ότι θα πραγματοποιηθεί συντονισμένη έρευνα.

Σύμφωνα με τον Schrems, ο στόχος αυτών των καταγγελιών είναι να μην αναγκάζονται οι χρήστες να δέχονται ότι τα δεδομένα τους θα χρησιμοποιούνται από διαφημίσεις μόνο και μόνο για να μπορούν να χρησιμοποιήσουν το τηλέφωνό τους ή να επικοινωνούν με άλλους χρήστες ενός κοινωνικού δικτύου.
