«Η στρατηγική Μέρκελ απέτυχε»

Επιμήκυνση των προγραμμάτων σταθεροποίησης που εφαρμόζονται σε υπερχρεωμένες χώρες, ζητούν τώρα έγκυροι Γερμανοί οικονομολόγοι, καλώντας την Αγγελα Μέρκελ να αναθεωρήσει την οικονομική της πολιτική, καθώς όπως υπογραμμίζουν, η στρατηγική του Βερολίνου απέτυχε.


Σε τοποθέτησή του ενώπιον της Επιτροπής Προϋπολογισμού της Ομοσπονδιακής Βουλής ενόψει της ψήφισης του Δημοσιονομικού Συμφώνου, στις 25 Μαΐου, ο καθηγητής και μέλος της ομάδας των «σοφών» που συμβουλεύουν την καγκελαρία, Πέτερ Μπόφινγκερ, ζήτησε χαλάρωση των προγραμμάτων αυστηρής λιτότητας που εφαρμόζονται στα υπερχρεωμένα κράτη της Ευρώπης.

Σύμφωνα με πληροφορίες που επικαλείται η οικονομική εφημερίδα Der Handelsblatt, ο κ. Μπόφινγκερ εξέφρασε την ελπίδα ότι το αποτέλεσμα των εκλογών στη Γαλλία και στην Ελλάδα θα οδηγήσει σε αναπροσανατολισμό της στρατηγικής του Βερολίνου και εισηγήθηκε την επιμήκυνση των προγραμμάτων που εφαρμόζονται ώστε να εξοικονομηθούν χρήματα, αλλά και να μετριασθεί η κοινωνική πίεση. Στην ίδια κατεύθυνση, ζήτησε μεγαλύτερη στήριξη από την Ευρωπαϊκή Κεντρική Τράπεζα και την χρήση νέων οικονομικών εργαλείων, όπως τα ευρωομόλογα.

Ο γνωστός οικονομολόγος κατηγόρησε τη γερμανική κυβέρνηση ότι με την ως τώρα στρατηγική της αύξησε την πίεση των αγορών, σημειώνοντας ταυτόχρονα ότι τα προγράμματα λιτότητας έχουν οδηγηθεί σε απόλυτη αποτυχία, ενώ χαρακτήρισε τα αυξανόμενα ποσοστά ανεργίας των νέων «μεγάλη απειλή για την πολιτική σταθερότητα στην Ευρώπη».

Επιμήκυνση των προγραμμάτων σταθεροποίησης ζητεί σε συνέντευξή του στην ίδια εφημερίδα και ο επικεφαλής οικονομολόγος του Γερμανικού Ινστιτούτου Οικονομικών Ερευνών (DIW), Φέρντιναντ Φίχτνερ, ο οποίος τονίζει ότι η ηπιότερη δημοσιονομική εξυγίανση αποτελεί τον καλύτερο δρόμο για μακροπρόθεσμη σταθερότητα.
