Τέλος και επίσημα η συνθήκη ACTA

Η αντιπρόεδρος της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής Neelie Kroes, υπεύθυνη για την Ψηφιακή Ατζέντα της Ένωσης, προανήγγειλε την απόσυρση της συνθήκης ACTA. Πρόκειται για μια σημαντική νίκη στον αγώνα για ένα Internet χωρίς ασφυκτικούς κανόνες copyright.


Η συνθήκη ACTA προέβλεπε την προστασία της πνευματικής ιδιοκτησίας στο Internet και όχι μόνο. Ωστόσο, οι πολέμιοι της συνθήκης έκαναν λόγο για περιορισμό των ατομικών ελευθεριών και παραβίαση του προσωπικού απορρήτου, ζητώντας την άμεση απόσυρσή της.

Η Kroes είπε ότι η βιομηχανία του copyright πρέπει να αλλάξει και να προσαρμοστεί στους ανθρώπους και όχι το αντίθετο. Η Επίτροπος υπογράμμισε τις έντονες αντιδράσεις που προκάλεσε η ACTA στην Ευρώπη: "είναι μια δυνατή πολιτική φωνή και ως τέτοια την καλωσορίζω, αν και δε συμφωνώ με όλα όσα λέγονται στο συγκεκριμένο θέμα", είπε χαρακτηριστικά η Ολλανδή Επίτροπος.

Η ACTA βρίσκεται αυτή τη στιγμή στο Ευρωπαϊκό Κοινοβούλιο και αναμένει την ετυμηγορία των Ευρωβουλευτών, ωστόσο μάλλον δε θα χρειαστεί να γίνει καν η ψηφοφορία έπειτα από τις δηλώσεις της Kroes.
