Αναβάθμιση λογισμικού για το Xbox 360 ανοίγει το δρόμο για το Kinect

Από τη Δευτέρα 1 Νοεμβρίου ξεκινά η Microsoft τη διάθεση του νέου λογισμικού (firmware) για το Xbox 360. Στο εξής, η κονσόλα θα προσφέρει μεταξύ άλλων υποστήριξη για το περιφερειακό Kinect, το οποίο καταργεί το χειριστήριο αναγνωρίζοντας τις κινήσεις του παίκτη από μακριά.

Η υποχρεωτική αναβάθμιση έρχεται επίσης λίγες ημέρες πριν από τα εγκαίνια της ελληνικής υπηρεσίας Xbox Live στις 10 Νοεμβρίου.

Εκτός του ότι προσφέρει υποστήριξη για το Kinect, που κάνει ντεμπούτο στις 4 Νοεμβρίου, η ενημέρωση λογισμικού διευκολύνει την πλοήγηση και την αναζήτηση στο Διαδίκτυο, αλλάζει εμφάνιση και ήχους στην οθόνη υποδοχής και επιταχύνει ορισμένες άλλες λειτουργίες.

Για όσους συνδέονται στο αμερικανικό Xbox Live, το νέο λογισμικό δίνει επίσης πρόσβαση στον κατάλογο τραγουδιών του Zune Music, τις ταινίες κατά παραγγελία της Netflix και τις αθλητικές διοργανώσεις του ESPN.
