Η ΤΝ συνεχίζει την επίθεση της στους ακτινολόγους

Ένα νέο μοντέλο ΤΝ μπορεί να ανιχνεύσει ανωμαλίες στις ακτίνες Χ καλύτερα από ακτινολόγους τουλάχιστον σε ορισμένα μέρη του σώματος,.

Οι ερευνητές του Stanford εκπαίδευσαν ένα συνελικτικό νευρωνικό δίκτυο χρησιμοποιώντας ένα σύνολο δεδομένων από 40.895 εικόνες από 14.982 μελέτες. Η έρευνα κατέγραψε πώς ο αλγόριθμος ανίχνευσε ανωμαλίες (όπως κατάγματα ή εκφυλισμό των οστών) καλύτερα από τους ακτινολόγους στις ακτινογραφίες των δακτύλων και του καρπού. Ωστόσο, οι ακτινολόγοι ήταν ακόμα καλύτεροι στο να εντοπίζουν προβλήματα στους αγκώνες, τους βραχίονες, τα χέρια, τα χέρια και τους ώμους.

Οι ακτινολόγοι συνεχίζουν να ανταγωνίζονται την ΤΝ, και δεν είναι πάντα οι νικητές. Ο Geoffrey Hinton, ένας εξέχων ερευνητής του AI, δήλωσε στο New Yorker ότι η πρόοδος στην ΤΝ σημαίνει ότι οι ιατρικές σχολές "πρέπει να σταματήσουν να εκπαιδεύουν ακτινολόγους τώρα".
