Παγκόσμια ανησυχία για το Flame malware

Έχουν περάσει μόνο λίγες ημέρες από την ταυτοποίηση μιας νέας ψηφιακής απειλής με την κωδική ονομασία Flame και η διεθνής κοινότητα εμφανίζεται ιδιαίτερα ανήσυχη για τη δράση του malware. Τα Ηνωμένα Έθνη, μάλιστα, αναμένεται να εκδώσουν προειδοποίηση.

Ο Marco Obiso από τη Διεθνή Ένωση Τηλεπικοινωνιών του ΟΗΕ είπε ότι "[το Flame] είναι η πιο σοβαρή απειλή που έχουμε ανακαλύψει ποτέ [...] είναι ένα επικίνδυνο εργαλείο κατασκοπίας που μπορεί να χρησιμοποιηθεί για επιθέσεις σε υποδομές κρίσιμης σημασίας". Η ΔΕΤ, μάλιστα, προειδοποιεί ότι το Flame ενδέχεται να επιτεθεί και σε άλλες χώρες μέσα στο άμεσο μέλλον.

Είναι ακόμη πολύ νωρίς για να γνωρίζουμε τι ακριβώς είναι το Flame και ποια είναι η αποστολή του. Το σίγουρο είναι ότι πρόκειται για ένα μεγάλο σε όγκο malware. Σύμφωνα με τη McAfee, μόνο το βασικό module αποτελείται από 650.000 γραμμές κώδικα.
